Key Concepts​

Before creating your first course, it's helpful to understand a few key concepts:

Account vs. Workspace​

  • Account - Your organization's container (e.g., "Acme Corporation"). Manages billing and subscription.
  • Workspace - A specific project or team environment (e.g., "Sales Training", "Engineering Onboarding").
    • Content is isolated within a workspace
    • You can invite different members to different workspaces
    • Switch workspaces using the selector in the header

Your Role: Creator/Developer​

As a Creator, you have full control over course development:

  • Create and edit courses
  • Generate AI content
  • Build assessments
  • Publish to Topicz.app
  • Invite learners to Hubs

💡 Testing Tip: If you have multiple roles (Creator + Learner), you can switch between them using the role toggle in the header. This lets you preview courses exactly as learners will see them.

The Developer Dashboard​

Your command center for creating content.

1. Courses Tab​

Your library of courses. Here you can:

  • Create New Course (Start here!)
  • Edit existing courses
  • Duplicate courses (great for templates)
  • View course status (Draft, Ready, Published)

2. Output Tab (Collections, Journeys, Hubs)​

Manage how content is organized and distributed:

  • Collections - Group related courses
  • Journeys - Create ordered learning paths
  • Hubs - Manage distribution to learner groups

3. Publishing Status​

  • Draft - Only visible to you and other workspace admins
  • Ready - Content is complete, ready for final review
  • Published - Live on Topicz.app for assigned learners
